Switching fire maintenance contractors, without the gap

For strata, commercial and portfolio managers whose current fire contractor misses visits, sits on reports, or surprises you on the invoice. Here's how the move works.

Sound familiar?

The reasons building managers call us about an existing contract.

Visits that slip

Monthly and six-monthly routines drift, and you find out when the AFSS is due and the three-month window has closed.

Reports you have to chase

The work was done, apparently, but the record turns up weeks later, or only when you ask twice.

Surprise invoices

Defects rectified without a quote, or call-out fees that weren't in the agreement.

A different tech every time

Nobody on the contractor's side knows the building, so every visit starts from scratch.

No asset register

You can't say how many extinguishers are on site, let alone which one failed last time and where it is.

Price creep

The renewal is up again and nothing about the service explains why.

How the switch works

The point is no gap in compliance and no gap in records. Most changeovers are done inside one billing cycle.

Send us what you have

Your last Annual Fire Safety Statement, the fire safety schedule, and whatever reports your current contractor has given you. Ten minutes of your time. The maintenance records belong to the owner, so ask for them if you don't hold them.

We build the asset register

A first visit records every fire safety asset on each site: where it is, its tag, its last test date, and a photo. From then on every report names the exact unit, not just "an extinguisher failed".

Schedule aligned to your AFSS date

AS 1851 routines are timed so the annual assessment lands inside its window, not after it. You get the year's plan up front.

A plain maintenance agreement

One annual figure per site for the routine program, defects quoted separately before any work, no lock-in beyond the year.

Reports after every visit, in one place

Each visit ends with a maintenance record. You also get a live online overview of your sites, their inspection standing and every document we've sent, so you're never chasing paperwork.

Fire safety technician's service vehicle and equipment

One technician who knows your buildings

SupplyFire is one experienced technician, not a roster. Ten-plus years, 200+ sites, fully insured, all work to AS 1851-2012.

Three things to check in your current contract

Notice period

Most agreements need 30 to 90 days. We'll time the first visit so the routines don't lapse in between.

Who holds the records

Maintenance records and the asset list are the owner's. Ask for them in writing before the contract ends.

Your AFSS date

If it's inside the next three months, tell us first. That changes what we do in the first visit.

Who this is for

Managers responsible for one building or a portfolio, who want the fire program to run without their attention.

Strata & owners corporations Commercial buildings Property & facility managers Childcare groups Schools Warehouses & industrial

Single small premises with one or two extinguishers? We do those too, but read what an AFSS actually requires first so there are no surprises.
